VIDEO: Constantine rolls out ‘friendly’ TV attack ad in King Co exec race

Submitted by on October 15, 2009 – 1:25 pmNo Comment

Dow Constantine’s campaign for King County executive is previewing their first television ad on YouTube. The Constantine campaign sent out a link to the YouTube video via a request to supporters for $50,000 to combat a rumored $135,000 cable television ad buy by the King County Leadership Council, as reported by Publicola Thursday morning.

The video is embedded below to save you the trouble of finding it. Be prepared to watch the newest evolution in digital age campaigning – the friendly negative ad.

So, in short form, King County registered voters should check the box for Chairman Dow (play a rhyming game with that one) because he’s not Susan Hutchison. Not exactly a winning strategy to answer questions from the electorate on issues of flood preparedness, budget deficits, and out of mismanaged projects like the $1.8 billion Brightwater Treatment System.

Single issue voters may be few and far between in an election year when dollars and cents are on the minds of everyone, and this ad may be one more indication of why the most recent SurveyUSA/King5 polls released Tuesday showed Hutchison increasing her lead to five points in Democrat-leaning King County.
