Update to FOIA request relating to NYC ‘Air Force One’ flyover

flyover_2-300x216 For those tracking this story, Unequal Time has been keeping tabs on its FOIA request, filed with the United States Air Force on earlier this month. Although there has been no release of materials, a member of the 844th Communications Group did confirm that Unequal Time’s request is being processed along with requests filed by several other media organizations.  The person with whom we spoke over the phone was extremely helpful and polite.

The USAF has 20 days, by law, to handle the request, and Unequal Time will continue to speak periodically with the unit handling the case to check status.  The scope of our request covered a wide range of documents and materials and compiling them is a labor-intensive process.

Of course, as soon as the materials are released, we will produce a report.

If you need a reminder of why this was an important error of the Obama White House, and an example of the effect that a lack of empathy in their part has on real people, listen to the 911 calls from that morning.  (Sorry, ABC News doesn’t like to have its content embedded so the link will have to suffice.)
