Pelosi inspires flurry of poetic mockery on Twitter
It never fails to inspire me when I can witness a topic start to trend and explode in the fast-moving, social networking Twittersphere.
This afternoon, Jim Treacher (click here to reach his blog) who has been writing humorous political haiku at Hot Air’s Green Room, ripped off a little 5-7-5 masterpiece on the theme of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s spinning wheel of explanations about when and what she knew about the practice of water boarding. (It isn’t torture, so let’s start waging that war of definitions again to regain some ground on this debate.)
It’s what is now being called pelosiku. Treacher spun this little gem and a frenzy of imitations began to flow from the minds of Twitterers:
I knew I knew not
And I didn’t know I knew
Now my face implodes
Another gem came from Mary Katherine Ham of The Weekly Standard:
Like Rice-a-Roni
I’m a San Francisco treat
For Republicans
Here’s my own pelosiku. I’m no poet, so use a sliding scale when issuing judgment.
Voice on intercom
“Rahm Emanuel. Line 1”
End is drawing near
All of sudden, with Pelosi finally center stage to show Americans that she is simultaneously gullible, clueless, and sits to the extreme left of the public on many important issues, there seems to be some life on the bench of the conservative movement. Getting the ball back in our hands, even in this small way, after only four and a half months of Democrat supreme control of the government feels pretty good. Now, as they used to say to former Seahawk running back Shaun Alexander, ‘Just hang on to the ball.’
So join in yourself, or just take a look at what other are writing on the #pelosiku hashtag.
